magpul poly mag - it's a plastic mag.
http://store.magpul.com/prod_detail_list/PMAG (http://store.magpul.com/prod_detail_list/PMAG)
GI is stamped metal
99.8% of people prefer PMAG over GI mag :chuckle:

Not so much now... :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash:
Pmags are now 20-35.00

Wishful thinking!!! Pmags 30 is a fair price now and if you want them be prepared to pay upwards of 40. They are very hard to come by right now. Prior the hysteria....yes 12-20, not now unless you get real lucky or want to wait. If the hi cap ban goes into place you can fully expect pmags to go for 50+ / per mag.... buy now for 30 if you can.

What I meant is that it's not worth the price gouging to pay what people are asking. There is nothing about a pmag that makes it better for 95% of the population. If you aren't preparing for war you don't need a ton of magazines. Even when I do go to war the most I generally carry is 10, and not pmags. I own some pmags but my gi mags, especially with tan followers or a pmag follower have proven themselves perfectly reliable in combat.

MidwayUSA has some good prices right now. They are out of stock after the latest panic but are accepting backorders.

I don't give a hoot about how 95% of the magazine looks. However, if the feed lips are cracked, bent or marred, the entire magazine is worthless. Way too much risk for a type II malfunction. Lot less risk in plastic over the GI aluminum. That is why I prefer PMAGs. :twocents:

I'm looking for 6.8 spc 25 or 30 round Mags if anyone knows of any?? I rather not wait until March. :(

Try Brownell's, I think I saw some there.

Botach Tactical has Colt metal magazines (30 round) for 20 bucks. No Pmags at all. I've used a lot of metal mags with no trouble, I think most folks would never know the difference.
I bought some of the Troy Battlemags for 15 bucks apiece.

I think if you looked at all of the SWAT guys across the state you will find a LOT of metal magazines.
-
Online auctions I see them for $40 or $50 each for Pmags. Considering selling some myself.
-
Just saw a guy selling pmags on armslist for $50 each. Bearhunter has a bunch he's selling for $30 each, metal ones.
-
I stocked up Nov. '08 after the election, even picked up a Beta 100 round drum. :chuckle:
-
Hahaha! The panic to buy the mags one should have already had. I've played with the Beta mags but for real world hop and pop action their worthless. They add to much weight to the weapon, they are bulky to carry and in a tight spot a malfunction( Internal mag jam) screws you for what's left in the mag. I'll just do two quick 30 round mag changes to compensate for the Beta's capacity. They are fun for casual shooting, wouldn't bank my A$$ on one.
-
I agree hammer, the betas can be really tricky to get to work right. Usually took a day of messing with them to get smooth function.
Would have to load/unload and sand little areas then repeat.
The metal 75 drum mags for the AK worked fine, but the plastic drums for Saiga-AK required all kinds of TLC like the betas.

LOL, who said anything about using it for real world hop and pop action?

Is this better and more suited to what you would like to hear?
I don't use equipment prone to failure.

Hammer, have you tried the Valkerie(?) conversion for an AR? It converts to belt fed. Don't know anyone that's got one yet. Thinking belt conversion with SSAR stock for future build.

Here is a entrepreneur!!

You must not have spent much time with a Glock, besides. Wasn't it you that said a 1911 felt like a brick? Hahaha! Bummer! They can't all be Springfields or Tikka's.😉
-
More then enough time  The 1911 does feel like a brick compared to the xdm  can't argue with that
Last glock I shot. I could not make up my mind weather to throw it at the person or fill it with concrete and use it as a hammer :chuckle:
-
Crazy what some are getting for the pmags! saw 10 that went for almost $700!

Well Carp, they perform with me and many others. May want to look into the other variables involved.
Ammo?
Pilot?
😊

:chuckle: It's the users choice and hammers way ain't always the right way, kinda like with the xdm  Oh and I can't fly plains yet either

I have a great idea, if you ever run into a great deal on a piece of crap Glock let me know and in return. If I ever run into a great deal on a piece of crap Tikka, I'll let you know.
-
Deal!!!!! I will keep my eyes out for ya! I get the tikka's in my professional program. So I don't really need any deals on them :chuckle: :chuckle: I will still help you out!
On the note of the topic you want to sell me a case of pmags for 15.00 each? :chuckle:
-
Cant beat the HK mags! But again, hard to find! (except mine) :-)

I can't let them leave my care and toss them out into the cruel world. I even thought about tucking them in with a electric blanket tonight. Impressive pile at today's asking price but they weren't purchased to turn a buck. Thought about loading them all up with SS109 and rolling around in them naked.😉
-
OMG now that is a sight I did not need to have pop into my head :chuckle:
-

I did actually ponder the thought of what a new PMag would go for at this time, sold topped off/gassed up with 30 pristine, annealed, reloadable brass, primer pocket & bullets sealed, Nato cross stamped SS109's? Imagine a guy could turn a few bucks.

People are getting some crazy prices for things, that's for sure. I'm not interested in selling anything but I was looking at what some of my hardware was going for and what I paid for it. Most have doubled in value at the current rate, some have tripled or even more. CRAZY!
-
That is the truth for sure. Hell a case of pmags bought at 13.00 is 1300.00 now they are selling for 50 and that 5000!!!
Thats 3700.00 in profit! That would buy one heck of a nice bolt gun or some other nice things :chuckle:
-
Its kind of sad. Im not a huge semi auto rifle guy, I love my bolt guns. But I bought a Colt recently just for kicks. Now I see its selling for 3x what I paid..I should of bought 4 and made some money :chuckle:
Hammer, when ur thumb gets a blister and you get tired of loading Pmags I ll take some off your hands... :chuckle:

No joke, that's funny. When I was typing that I was actually thinking. How many mags could I load before I had to tape my thumb to save some skin?😉
-
Ha! On gun broker. 10 hours to go in the auction and the current bit is 2700.00 bucks for a 70 count PMag lot.
CRAZY!!!
