That is the question, Nikon Monarch 5 12x42 or Leupold Mojave 10x42. Whats your thoughts?

I am all about Nikon I dont have a Monarch but all my optics are Nikon and I love them.  Plus they really back their stuff with a great warranty.  I have used it a couple times and they have always took great care of me.

12x is hard to use and demands excellent glass to be clear...poor low light performance.
Better choices than Leupold, for sure.

I have the leupolds, I love them, they are a little bit heavy but great glass.

I switched from Monarch to Zen-Ray VISTA and never looked back.  The VISTA is probably the best deal out there.  It has the same glass and coating as Vortex Diamondback, but for 40% less.

Thanks guys, after further research looks like the Prime HDs are starting to win me over...

You nailed it.  I ordered 10x PRIME when it first came out in April. To say it is better than Monarch is just unfair to Nikon since Nikon has similar EDG binoculars.
