-
:puke:
Sorry, was forced to eat it as a kid. Maybe it would be edible bbq'ed or smoked...or :bdid:
-
Hmm, interesting concept ... what store?
-
They couldn't sell that stuff for 200% off and pay me to take it!
-
:yeah: fish jello is just wrong!
-
No offense, but considering the process that it has already been through and whats its become, grilling it seems totally pointless, and to be quite honest, disgusting :o i dont think i could put that smell alone in my grill :puke: how would you even keep lutefisk gelatinous goober from falling through the grill racks :dunno:
-
You could probably grill it on foil in a weber I do salmon like that a lot.
do you understand what lutefisk is?
it is a fish that has been dried or salt cured then is reconstituted in a solution of lye... I am very scandinavian and can say its an acquired taste I never truly acquired it but I can eat it ....better than liverworst which I wont touch but gives lutefisk a run for in smell and bad texture
Good luck with it

Poulsbo leutefisk which is made in Port Townsend is the best (least worst) that I have had. It is firm and flavorful. I went out of my way to get that when I lived in Iowa and Kansas.

7'o clock New Years eve bite. Tukwila trading had it. I bet I could catch a chum on it . I've eaten it on rare occasions since I was a kid. Tried again last year with boiled potatoes, butter, and leffsa and it still can't stand it.
Spoiled in the NW.

I am not sure what it is really... Luteai's comment reminds me of National Lampoons Christmas , dry cat food in jello mold...HA! :bdid:

Liverworst on Rye or real German bread is deli! But then again, I have a Oma (German Grandma). I love German food! Authentic German food!

You can't beat mashed potatoes, butter, topped with Lutefisk.
Smell is bad but the taste is great.

Old Ole a Norwegian taught me how to eat Lutefisk when I was a kid. "Drench it in da butter until it floats, then slide down the throat as fast as you can that stuff is horrible. Then eat more pie."
I loved sitting next to him at potlucks in the basement of the Lutheran church growing up.

LOL sounds like a BBQ'ed set of sweat socks!!!
:puke:
I'll take a pass on it. Thanks

FOUND IT..... :yike:
Lutefisk (dried cod treated with lye) must surely be the strangest culinary effort credited to the Norwegians, but what a treat when prepared properly. Everyone of course is not a devotee of lutefisk, but those who are defend it vehemently. Others go to the opposite extreme and claim it's a national disgrace. In years past, the homemaker had to go through the complicated task of treating the dry fish with lye, but now, even in America, frozen lutefisk is readily available at selected fish markets and at Scandinavian delicatessens.
In some parts of Northern Norway, lutefisk is served with melted goat cheese. :yike: :yike: :bdid:

-
Norway is where the tradition of dogs licking their butts came from. They started doing it to get the taste of lutefisk out of their mouths.

We made 81 Lefsa pieces for the holidays. Great as a breakfast burrito roll up!
Mmmmmm....

Yummy! Lefsa!

Seems as though the better question would be why would you BBQ lutefisk?
