Are they in soft cases leaning against the wall?
Do you only store your guns in hard cases and stack them in a closet?
On display in viewing Cabinets?
I am curious what is the best way to store my guns. Looking for ideas.

Best way is a safe. DONOT store in cases especially the soft ones, these seem to cause rust.
X2, monitoring moisture and temp in a safe isn't a bad idea either.

How do you store your guns?No offense but a public forum is not the place to be telling the world where to look in your house for your guns, I am surprised even this many guys replied to someone basically asking where their guns are located with only three posts. :dunno:

Isn't that the point of owning a safe? Locking them for safety and prevention of theft? Not asking for addresses or where they store guns in the home.
The reason I ask the questions is I recently got a hunting rifle and have been storing it back and forth between a gun safe and a soft case. I like it in the soft case because it is easy to access but feel safer with it in the safe. I was wondering if anyone had a different way of storing.
With the help of the previous posts (minus Huntnphool) It seems I am on following the path of others.

A responsible gun owner should keep his/her guns locked in a safe when not in use. Otherwise the ones left out should be in direct control of the owner. A safe was one of the best purchases I ever made, since there is much more in the safe than guns. Valuables, important papers and such.:yeah:

May I add.....there are a variety of safes out there. I know a lot of people that have just a few guns so they want a small safe. they buy the small sentry or stack on models......THEY ARE JUNK!!! Invest in a safe that is a minimum of 4-500 lbs then bolt it to the floor (the right way). Even if you can't fill it with guns you can always put family heirlooms, picture, money, etc, etc, in it. The small ones mentioned above can be carried away or broken into with very litte effort. The big ones will last a lifetime and your average thug cannot carry that away, uless they have a forklift. :twocents:

Shotgun next to the bed and daily carry 9mm that spends the night in the night stand each have one of these on them (without the stupid cable. It's not needed):

Both are loaded though the shotgun doesn't have one chambered.
I have an in-wall hand gun safe with a small picture mounted to the door that swings open to hide it. Whenever I get the money for another 9mm, it will go in there and the safe will be mounted next to the front door so the wife can access it and have a hand on the pistol before she answers the door.

Combine the comments from members and the lists with addresses the papers are posting and you have ripe pickings for thieves.

Way I see it, for me anyways is, the ones in the safe aren't going anywhere and the one that is out would be found with little to no effort anyway.
