So was looking on geodata for places to hunt Yotes and found land that Im Pretty sure is a pheasant release site (at least tons of people bird hunt there)
My question is, is that fair game to hunt Yotes? There's several parcels owned by "STATE OF WA-GAME DEPT" and "STATE OF WA-DEPT OF FISH GAME" might be a stupid question but it'd be a lot more stupid to get a fine.

Coyote hunting is probably ok, but there's a good chance you will have to use a shotgun to be legal. There should be a sign posted at the site with the rules for that Wildlife Area.
-
My big question is why would you want to? I would be very concerned about safety for everyone..yourself included.

I don't see an issue. I think it would be great for someone to try to reduce the coyote population on state land. Pheasant season is over so why are you concerned about safety?

I'm sure it ok, Pheasant release season is over, still hungry yotes around, use a pheasant in distress call, but since it's a release site make sure to use steel 00 buck :dunno:
I've peppered a couple out pheasant hunting

Well I drove by this morning and there's no one currently hunting birds. Generally when they are there's a line of trucks and a field of orange. And I would want to because its a big field full of pheasant and lots of rabbits so should be good yote opportunities...
And thanks bobcat ill go try to find a sign!

If lead shot is not legal, you might use "dead coyote" shotgun shells.
-
Good point about the season being over......that fairly important aspect didn't even occur to me....
Shoot away, check the regs on weapon or other restrictions, and have at it!
-
Is info about legal weapons gonna be on the sign at the release site or in the regs? Sorry never hunted a pheasant release site ever.

Should be red and white steel shot only signs posted around

Roger. Ill go take a look. Thanks guys ill post pics if I get any!

They say Non-Toxic. Illegal to shoot or even posess lead shot in these areas. Doesn't have to be steel.

West or Eastside? I hunt eastside and you can use rifle, but non toxic shot for shotguns. Westside sits are all shotguns only sucks lots of duck hunter. Eastside is good more area ,but some waterfowl and upland hunters will screw you up now and then. I just move. Good luck hunting
