I've been wanting a 1911 for a couple years now and with the way things are going I finally made the purchase. I had to wait a week to pick it up due to a 3 day back log at the FBI and the New Years holiday, but I finally got to bring it home. Here it is fresh out of the box. I can't wait to give it a test run. What do you guys who carry 1911's like for holsters both for concealed carry and for carrying out in the woods?

Conceal=Crossbread Supertuck
Woods (or with a coat)=Yaqui

You will LOVE the gun! I have the same one!

Should fit your 1911 great! I have 2 for other guns, and I really like both of them.

Very sexy. I love it

Very nice. I carry an iwb UBG side holster with my 1911. Nice black leather, made specifically for the gun. First half hour is uncomfortable, then you forget it's there.

Great handgun, familiar pic. :)

Nice gun! I would highly recommend a Raven Concealment holster, not great for IWB carry, but an awesome holster for OWB.

Nice gun!! Careful when you take it apart, these guns are made machined very well and are super tight! :-)

Dandy hammer right there. Nice look to it.

Nice looking piece

Raven takes too long, I have several of their holsters along with Kaluban. Get ahold of Adam @ GunfightersINC.

He will custom make a kydex holster for any handgun you choose, in your choice of color or style. He is located in Leavenwoth WA. He has a quick delivery time also and he's a stand up guy. My last custom Raven took 6 or 8 months, I can't recal. My last Kaluban "Cloak" took almost 3 months. Adam @ GunfightersINC has had custom stuff to me in 7 days. If he needs the handgun to make the holster I live near him. I can drop mine by for him to do the fitting.

Thanks. I will definitely look into Gunfighters.

Any advice for when I do take it apart? I will probably be taking it apart to one of these nights to get all the excess factory oil off and check everything out.

It went apart just fine! However, I had issues putting it back together and PM'd biggerhammer. He told me about the tight fit and what to watch for. I seriously thought I messed something up but the gun is so well made and such a tight fit, I may have rushed it, thinking it is like any other 1911. I had issues with the pin not leveling all the way flat, so the slide would not go passed the pin, I had to force the pin down and than it worked. I may have bent it on my first couple of tries. I took it to the range the day after and put 100 rounds trough it and it performed as it should "like a champ"

Bianchi Black Widow, if they still make them.

Out in the open carry, I like the Blackhawk CQB. I use only the lock for retention, no friction.
Not sure about concealed yet, but considering the Supertuck.
