Title: Brown Bear .223
Post by: BowForElk on January 10, 2013, 01:12:38 PM
Anybody ever buy this stuff? Its pretty darn cheap on Sportsmans guide. $204 per 1000rd.

Just curious whether this stuff is gonna jam up and be worthless.

If it's lacquer coated, I'd stay away from them myself. They don't get very good reviews. You might be one of the lucky ones and not have any problems.  :dunno:

lacquer becomes an issue when you run it hot.
A DI AR that shoots 20 rds a minute will likely melt the lacquer, and gum up your chamber.

thinkingman is correct, seen several 45acp pistols ruined from guys shooting the lacquer coated rounds. The lacquer coats the chamber area and can eventually cause scoring in the metal it it is not cleaned out very regularly. I personally wouldn't use them in anything that I valued.  :twocents:

Just make sure if you use it to clean a little more often.
Or just do not use massive rounds in a semi auto because it will gum
Them up.Unless your talking AK or SKS they will shoot anything And continue to go Bang!,
