Post by: Griz231 on January 11, 2013, 04:17:32 PM

It's about 6-7 years old.

What y'all think its worth today?

I own the same gun.  I haven't checked sales of them lately but if it's in good shape, it should be well worth it.

Buy it. That's a good deal. A great deal considering this scare we are in

depends on what you want, they work very dependably, just not too accurately. :dunno:

They are definitely a 1-200 yard gun. Not a long distance shooter like an AR.

I have a gun addiction. If its cool, I don't have one, and its the right price, I buy it!

Only issue I will have is finding ammo.

$500 is like stealing it in todays market.. You probably cant find one at retail or less anywhere, When Wal-Mart had them in stock they were $700, but now that theyre sold out everywhere.. People have been asking 1200 for them.  :yike:
A buddy of mine has 2 stainless mini-14's and he is "considering" selling one for $1k

He named the price and I think he's giving me a good deal since I just bought two other guns from him.
1955 Ruger Blackhawk .357 low serial number- Sweet old gun, but definitely not safe since it doesn't have the hammer fix done to it.
And a Early 60's Savage Model Fox BST 410 double barrel unfired.

I'll be buying the Mini for sure.  Thanks for the input guys.

Just because it doesn't have the transfer bar doesn't mean it's not safe!! Even though they say it doesn't hurt the resale I would never have a 3 screw done!! it is a sacrilege to have it done!

I agree, but when we were shooting it, it was a bit of a loose cannon. Trigger very touchy but fun

I was watching for prices on Mini 14 myself. I saw a used one on gunbroker.com a few days ago get auctioned off for around $1000.

Definitely a panic going on to drive 'em up that high. I don't think they are worth that personally but "times, they are a changin'".

Can someone edumicate me on whether the Ruger mini 14 .223 can shoot NATO 5.56?

I'm getting conflicting reviews online

If barrel is 5.56 then 223 is okay but not the other way, casings may jam

So the barrel will say on it or ?
It's about 6-7 years old he thought. I'll run serial to know for sure.

I scored a good deal on this one.  He cut me a good deal since I bought a couple other guns recently from him.
Got the Mini 14 w/ bushnell scope, both in 99-100% condition.  Claims he fired it less than 5 times.  He also gave me a 5 round and a 20 round clip along with 160 rds of .223  :IBCOOL:
I'll post up a pic later
