Ok basically. This is what my situation is...
I'm a 25 year young guy who made a few mistakes earlier in life, Spent some time in prison. Forced to take up bowhunting "If I had any desire to hunt".
And I must add. I absolutely love archery. I feel more in tuned with my weapon at times. Plus the sheer excitement of how close you have to be to get an effective shot. Anyways.
I fish for salmon all year when I can, So I'm not really a stranger to the outdoors.
I'm trying to get myself ready and prepped for some future hunting experiences.
First things first, I don't have a single friend or family member that knows squat about being outdoors, led alone hunt. Don't have any mentors, fatherly figures, nothing to that sort. So what I'm looking for is someone who could point me in the right direction.
I've got a good majority of the stuff I need. Bow, Treestand, Clothing, Camo access, the drive. I just don't know where to even start.
Like I said, 25 years young, decent shape - with asthma but it doesn't really stop me from hiking, I've been doing lots of high elevation gain hikes lately with my gear to try and condition myself alittle better considering I've never actually been on the field to hunt. I'm interesting in putting down just about anything but maybe cats. Creatures of beauty to me, Not saying its out of the question though :)
Got an itch for elk. Always wanting to chase coyotes.
Blah. So. New to hunting. Got the information. Need the field experience. Maybe possibly a partner/mentor. Don't even mind tagging along and taking tips.
Goal is to be upfront and honest with everyone as much as I can.
Stay true everyone. No problem asking whatever questions you throw at me.
