Title: chicken distress?
Post by: Bowflinger on January 15, 2013, 08:15:14 PM
Has anybody had any luck with chicken distress calling? I have a sweet little pocket to hunt surrounded by farmlands and plenty of coyotes in the area. I had more coyote pics on my trail cams from this area than deer last year and haven't had any success with cottontail distress or howls.

I haven't, and I've tried it a couple times. But I sure don't know why it wouldn't work, especially in areas where people have chickens. And I'm sure the coyotes don't hear it as often as they do rabbit distress.

I've tried it a few times, with no takers.  Sure sounds good, though.  Also tried Kitten Cries, and Kitten Distress, with same result.  But then, it was when the mousing was easy.   Don't know how they can resist--a cat is like a dish of ice cream to a coyote!  :chuckle:
