Hey all. Planning a trip to Colorado this year for a muzzy hunt. I have a Hawkins T/C with an after market barrel with a 1:28 twist that I shoot Sabots out of with about 100 grains of loose powder. Colorado prohibits sabots and pellet powders so I'm at least good on the powder part, but I will need to switch bullets. All the rules say is that they have to be at least .50 cal and 210 grains. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Oh I guess it say 170 grains is ok through .50 cal. We will be hunting elk.

Do they also require an all lead bullet?
If not, I would give Thor bullets a try.

Don't say anything about all lead or jacketed bullets so I'm assuming anything goes.

Also lots of good options on this site:

What powder charge do you use? And does anyone here use the power belted bullets?

100g of triple 7. You might want to start at 80 or so and work up. You’re not going to want to spend all day at the range shooting this load. :chuckle:
