Title: The Untouchable Bill of Rights
Post by: huntrights on January 30, 2013, 09:56:10 AM
Former Graham County Arizona Sheriff, Richard Mack: The Untouchable Bill of Rights

On January 30-31, 2012 over 100 county sheriffs and peace officers united to uphold their oaths of office, protect citizen liberty, and stop state and federal tyranny.

Please forward the link to this video to every sheriff and peace officer you have a connection with.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4ygEk7lvvg

Please forward this video to your family, friends, and colleagues as well.  It is worth the time to watch and learn what that sworn oath of office truly means.  It will also make it very clear why we must demand that those that take this oath must uphold their promise to all of us and this country.

Many of our elected officials (i.e. some federal and state legislators, county commissioners, city council members, etc.) seem to have forgotten, do not understand, or choose to ignore their oath of office.  We, the People, need to remind them of their sworn oath and what it means.

Excerpt from Article VI of the Constitution of the United States

“…The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution …”

Thank you.

Is there a list of which Washington State Sheriffs are on board?

I believe they all took the same sworn oath of office.

Thanks,

I have written Sheriff Gjesdal (Douglas) with no response to date.

It would be worth it to start a list of "with us" sheriffs IMO. I'm just working on a starting point.

Current and retired law enforcement participants in this forum might want to join this conversation.  The ‘bar’ has been raised regarding protecting and preserving our rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States and the Bill of Rights.

Please watch the video first.

The county sheriffs in the state of Washington should be considering drafting a similar letter to the President.

This is the full text of the letter, as posted on the Utah Sheriffs’ Association website:

http://utahsheriffs.org/USA-Home_files/2nd%20Amendment%20Letter_1.pdf

January 17, 2013

"Dear President Obama:

We, the elected sheriffs of Utah, like so many of our fellow Americans, are literally heartbroken for the loved ones of the murdered victims in Connecticut. As Utahans, we are not strangers to this kind of carnage—one of the latest being the 2007 Trolley Square murders wherein nine innocents were gunned down—five losing their lives.

We also recognize the scores of other recent domestic massacres, which have decimated countless honorable lives. As Americans, we value the sanctity of life. Furthermore, similar to our inspired Founders, we acknowledge our subservience to a higher power.

With the number of mass shootings America has endured, it is easy to demonize firearms; it is also foolish and prejudiced. Firearms are nothing more than instruments, valuable and potentially dangerous, but instruments nonetheless. Malevolent souls, like the criminals who commit mass murders, will always exploit valuable instruments in the pursuit of evil. As professional peace officers, if we understand nothing else, we understand this: lawful violence must sometimes be employed to deter and stop criminal violence. Consequently, the citizenry must continue its ability to keep and bear arms, including arms that adequately protect them from all types of illegality.

As your administration and Congress continue to grapple with the complex issue of firearm regulations, we pray that the Almighty will guide the People’s Representatives collectively. For that reason, it is imperative this discussion be had in Congress, not silenced unilaterally by executive orders. As you deliberate, please remember the Founders of this great nation created the Constitution, and its accompanying Bill of Rights, in an effort to protect citizens from all forms of tyrannical subjugation.

We respect the Office of the President of the United States of America. But, make no mistake, as the duly-elected sheriffs of our respective counties, we will enforce the rights guaranteed to our citizens by the Constitution. No federal official will be permitted to descend upon our constituents and take from them what the Bill of Rights—in particular Amendment II—has given them. We, like you, swore a solemn oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, and we are prepared to trade our lives for the preservation of its traditional interpretation.

We are facing relentless attacks against our Second Amendment rights as defined in our Bill of Rights.  It has become necessary that we ask all those that took an oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Bill of Rights to reaffirm their commitment to that oath.  The county sheriffs of the State of Washington are a group of elected officials that took that oath.  They are extremely important in the defense of our rights and freedoms guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights.  They cannot enforce any laws (national, state, or local) that violate the Constitution of the United States or the Bill of Rights.  It is their duty to enforce the rights and freedoms guaranteed to our citizens by the Constitution.

Please send a very respectful message to all of the county sheriffs in the State of Washington asking that they reaffirm their oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and Bill of Rights - in particular Amendment II.  You can draft your own message, copy and paste the message below, or modify the message.  It is extremely important that your message is respectful to these honorable peace officers.

You can email all of the Washington State sheriffs in one email.  Just copy and paste the email addresses below into the “To” field of your email.  Copy and paste the subject into the “subject” field.

Protecting and Defending Our Constitutional Rights

The message to our county sheriffs is below:
----------------------------------------------------------

Dear Washington State County Sheriffs:
Sheriff Doug Barger (Adams County), Sheriff G. K. "Ken" Bancroft (Asotin County), Sheriff Steven Keane (Benton County), Sheriff Brian Burnett (Chelan County), Sheriff Bill Benedict (Clallam County), Sheriff Garry E. I am writing you today regarding my concerns about the very troubling times we are now experiencing.  It is likely that you will receive this same message, or similar messages from many other concerned Washington citizens.  Please view them as individual messages and not a mass mailing; it is merely the best way for many of the concerned citizens in our great state to communicate a common message to you.

Like many Americans, I am heartbroken by the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut; my prayers and sympathy go out to those that lost loved ones.  We, as nation, and as individuals need to understand and work to prevent these acts of criminal violence.  However, as stated by the Utah Sheriff’s Association:

“…With the number of mass shootings America has endured, it is easy to demonize firearms; it is also foolish and prejudiced. Consequently, the citizenry must continue its ability to keep and bear arms, including arms that adequately protect them from all types of illegality….”

Their statement captures the essence of my message to you.

The President, his Administration, members of the U.S. Congress, our State Legislature, and local regulators continue to debate the issue of firearms regulation.  The unfortunate outcome of the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut has been a flurry of emotionally driven executive orders, proposed legislation, and enacted legislation at national, state, and local levels that infringe on our right to keep and bear arms.  I am very concerned that the elected officials pursuing these anti-gun actions have forgotten, did not fully understand, or simply have chosen to ignore their sworn oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

I would encourage you to watch this video of Former Graham County Arizona Sheriff, Richard Mack, as he speaks to over 100 county sheriffs and peace officers about their oaths of office.  This meeting took place on January 30-31, 2012; it is addressing the issues we face today.  You may also want to consider showing this video to your staff.

The Utah Sheriff’s Association sent a clear and necessary message to our President.  I believe such a message also sends a clear message to the State Legislature and local regulators in addition to reinforcing the confidence the public has in the county sheriff’s offices.  Please take the time to view the full message from the Utah Sheriff’s Association.

http://utahsheriffs.org/USA-Home_files/2nd%20Amendment%20Letter_1.pdf

I sincerely appreciate the time you have taken to read my message to you.  I am respectfully asking that all of you, the county sheriffs of the State of Washington, come together and reaffirm your oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Bill of Rights – in particular Amendment II.  Please consider sending a message, in a unified voice of Washington State Sheriffs, to President Obama as the Utah Sheriff’s Association has done.

We, the People of the State of Washington, need to hear from all of you as our Constitutional Rights are being threatened nationally and locally.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

[Your contact information]

Kendle Allen Announces Sheriff's Office Candidacy
 April 14, 2010

Kettle Falls Police Chief Kendle Allen announces that he is running for the office of Stevens County Sheriff in this year's upcoming election. Allen, who has 31 years of law enforcement experience, has served almost 14 of those years with the Stevens County Sheriff's Office, and has been the Chief of Police in Kettle Falls for the last 3 years.

Kendle Allen believes that he will bring the qualifications of experience, leadership, and financial responsibility with him to the Sheriff's Office, especially with current climate of budgetary problems in county government. Allen, who is running as a Republican, is a strong proponent of property and gun rights, and is willing to step-up and meet challenges that would take these rights away from law abiding citizens. Some of Allen's goals for the Sheriff's Office are to improve customer satisfaction with service received by the public, promote citizen involvement with public safety projects, keep people informed through various media resources, and keep deputies visible in the communities. Kendle Allen will strive to provide the best possible law enforcement service to keep criminals off of our streets, and to make the general public comfortable in dealing with THEIR Sheriff's Office.

I think that covers Stevens County huh?
