Interesting.
-
Some of the best stuff that could happen to protect our rights. The hysteria these idiots are acting on is showing everyone how crazy they are.
-
The agent involved claimed the toys could be converted to the real thing. How does one become an ATF Agent and have such a total lack of understanding of guns?
-
He got in because he knew Barack.
-
is it time yet?
-
That is an old story. I hope that agent works at Wal Mart now though.
-
I happen to have a little inside info on this exact situation.
The lower of the air soft gun mated up with no problem to a ar-15 upper.
The only part of a ar that is registered is the lower.
-
I was just going to ask that question, but NW_GSP beat me to it with the answer.

Airsoft gun converted to real gun (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K33TX-vthUI#ws)
-
That is a faked-up video. He swaps out two different lowers off camera. The airsoft one had a green handle, the finished one has a black handle, and if you look closely, the side of the receiver below the ejection port has some lettering stamped into it on the green handled one and it is not there on the black handled one. Also he doesn't put the bolt or mag releases back in that he removes, yet the finished gun has them in place and they work.

That video was uploaded back in 2010.

If you read the description of your video Smossy, you'll see the video was a joke. You cannot convert an airsoft into a working "military grade machine gun".

NOT just two different lowers, two different uppers to. He started out with an upper that had the word kill on it, then it magically goes away.
-
True, I just didn't want to type any more... :chuckle:

Think about this, someone buys one of those toy guns takes the upper off of it and can buy a real ar-15 upper and will have not had to register any part of the gun. That is why the ATF got involved.
-
It is probably very likely that a real upper will attach to one, but I think the big question is, can the "toy's" lower have a lower kit installed to fire live ammo, or is it machined/cast in such a way that it will not accept one?
-
still idiots atf should be dismantled.
-
ide have to see it to believe it, doesnt seem like you could convert something so easily without it exploding in your face.
