Went last weekend to a fishing show in Richmond, VA. Bought a raffle ticket from a High School club and won a $200 custom bass rod. Wohoo, first raffle I have ever won.
-
Sounds like the makings of a lucky pole.
-
Cool!!! I am sure you will put it to good use

Cool deal. I just started custom building rods. It's amazing the quality difference butween a custom and a factory rod. Even on my high end rods like my Loomis imx's there islot left to be desired. Something I never noticed before I started building. You will be happy.

You're probably well aware of this but have you seen the revolver style rod guides? When I first got the rod, a one piece lite cranker style bass rod the guides are not all in line. I thought, what the heck? But doing some checking on the various rod building sites it's rater common. Looking forward to using it on these big smallies and largemouth bass.

All the casting rods I have built so far are spiral wrapped. It's not common in factory building but I would say most custom builders prefer it. It makes the rod more stable.

Let's see some pics.

I'll post some tonight when I get home.

Good for you! Nice to win something every now and then.
