Skinning a Deer with a golf ball (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmcLhkHjfeg#ws)
Wow lol.
-
Thats a pretty sweet trick! I did it with my elk this year! Worked great!

Did twelve deer this year like that. Only used a truck and had a couple fails. Rigging not strong enough. Go it dialed it now tho.
-
Never thought skinning would be that easy with alittle human ingenuity! Props to everyone that does this in some form.
Suprised the hide is actually strong enough to holdup to it.
-
didnt think of a golf ball. a rock has always worked for me.

What does that even mean? A golf ball? A rock? For what?

You skin down the neck a ways then insert rock or... under skin and fold over rock then tie rope around base of rock

Ohhhhhhhh, thats how you get a good hold on the skin then. Gotcha. GENIUS!

Cool, I love the Redneck ingenuity we hunters and fishermen come up with!! looks like he built that rig just for the demo.
-
Looks cool but seems to me like it's something you'd need to do a lot to make the build time/effort worth while.
-
I'll bet it wasn't very fun gutting that thing. Looks like a solid stomach shot
-
On the YouTube comments, he said "On a final note I did not gut shoot her. It was a quartering away heart shot.
-
you dont need anything special i did a doe( legal shot by my cousin) over in east side and just tied her head to a tree and got a a rock tied on to my truck and went forward.
-
I did a cow elk this year and have done a few deer. Tied the head to the first truck and used a rock and pulled with a second truck. You have to be careful around the ends of the legs with an elk. My suggestion is to cut around the ends of the legs first, or it can get hung up or tear the game in half.

What really works slick is using the using the bucket of a tractor. Skin a bit, tie it off, and raise the bucket. Less than 1/10th the time of this guy's hand crank. Plus, if you tie the deer off by the head to the tractor then a quick slit is all that's needed for gutting it. Everything falls out into a bucket.
