You skin down the neck a ways then insert rock or... under skin and fold over rock then tie rope around base of rock

You have to be careful around the ends of the legs with an elk. My suggestion is to cut around the ends of the legs first, or it can get hung up or tear the game in half.

Post by: Todd_ID on February 14, 2013, 08:12:17 AM: What really works slick is using the using the bucket of a tractor. Skin a bit, tie it off, and raise the bucket. Less than 1/10th the time of this guy's hand crank. Plus, if you tie the deer off by the head to the tractor then a quick slit is all that's needed for gutting it. Everything falls out into a bucket.
