Title: WOO HOO , Just got my New Camera
Post by: benbo30 on February 08, 2013, 09:44:34 PM: :IBCOOL: Woo Hoo , just got back from costco in yakima with the wife we are now new owners of a CANON 7D camera :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: , i still need and will be looking for a good outdoors lense . Cant wait to be able to get out and use it , came with a 135mm lense which is will be good for my wife to photograph the kids , i will play around with it as well to get used to it ...

I definitely have a 300 f4IS L. :) My wife uses it all the time and she absolutely loves it! :tup: :yeah: Here's a photo she took with that lens:

I personally use a Canon 400 f5.6 L lens myself for a little longer reach, but I loose 1 f stop with it. But I don't ever have a problem with that. :) Even in a dark concert hall I have pulled off some awesome shots. :)

You definitely are on the right track by going to L series lenses! Good Glass like an L series has will produce magnificent shots! :tup: :tup: :tup: :tup:

IS is awesome for people with less than steady hands!

For a critter lens the 400 f5.6L won't disappoint if you learn to shoot in Manual mode and shoot wide open. The 300 f4L might be a good idea and you could couple it with a Tamron 1.4x multiplier for more reach. With a solid rest the 400 f5.6 is great with the Tamron 1.4x for 560mm f8, but again a steady rest and some good light.
