Anyone use a mirror lens for canon dslr? I want to get a lens at least to 400mm. I can't afford 1k + for a lens and mirror lens' are cheap. I understand you get what you pay for. Or any other suggestions for a lens. I'm trying to keep under 500 and I want a decently fast lens for wildlife photography.

For $500 I would look at the Canon 70-200mm f4, you can use it for several months while you save another $500 and then sell it for the same $500 you bought it for, then have your $1000 to spend on a Canon 300mm f4 IS. :twocents:

For a good many years I had a Mirror lens (I bought it in the old film camera days), it never really did produce any really good photos with film and it was much worse when I adapted it over to digital! Do yourself a favor and just save the money up for a real lens!
You Will Be Sorry If You WASTE Money on a Mirror Lens!

I picked up a used EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM for $250.00 so far the best deal I have had. It takes very good pictures and did not break the bank.
