Title: Fishing the Wynoochee
Post by: TheHunt on February 10, 2013, 05:53:20 PM
I took a friends kid and his buddy to fish for Steelhead for the very first time.

Does anyone care to guess who hooked up and caught fish?     :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Those two went out....

One fish that one of them had on was about an 8 lb'er. And I saw him pulling his line like it was hung up.  Then he realized it was a fish.  Laughed pretty hard on that one.

Hit it today from the bank and got a  hen with my home made eggs.  A couple of guys in a boat tried for this fish for over an hour.  2 casts with my eggs after they left (they weren't out of sight yet) and BAM!  She's not real bright but sure fought well.

Hey Polar Bear, were you drifting them or running them under a float?  I need to gain some faith in plastics.

Drifting.  I went as simple as it gets, drop swivel, 4' 8 pound leader, #4 hook and 4 eggs.  The water is gin clear and low.  It seemed that everyone that came down in a boat had fish but mostly little brats.  With a little more rain it should heat up.

Thank you!  They are really turning out to be great little fish catchers!  Been having good luck with them for steelhead and the trout just gobble them up!  Might take another "R&D" trip to the Nocch tomorrow.

No tax write off.  LOL!  I haven't made enough from them yet to expense a pack of my own eggs yet a tank of fuel.   :chuckle:  Just happened to be layed off this week and the fishing is picking up.  I'm smoking steelhead and doing chores today so I can possibly hit the river a couple more times before I get called back to work.

I tried to order some, but when I added them to my cart it tried charging S&H for each item.
