Any advice for a comfortable lock on tree stand?
-
TreeLounge, I've slept in mine before!
-
Actuall the TreeLounge is a climber. I misread the caption but it is comfy.

Just get yourself a cheap climbing stick, I think sportsmans guide has em for 40 or 50 bucks. Then hang any type of stand up in the tree and use the climbing stick to get in and out, that way when you leave you can just take apart the climbing stick and leave your stand up in the tree. Then just stash the climbing stick in the woods or haul it out with you.

I think he was referring to it being comfortable not being secured. :dunno:

Yea that's a good idea for the styx. Thanx. I was really asking about being comfortable sitting in the stand. I have a summit climber and can sleep in that with it's saddled seat, but the lock on stands I have seen all look pretty uncomfortable with the padded seats. I have kind of a boney azz (hope that wasn't too much info) and need something that won't be making me slide from cheek to cheek too much and making to much movement. :chuckle:

Ohh gotcha, read into that one wrong! I've got a summit and its just on the verge of being too comfortable. Comfortable for sitting, miserable for dozing off though.

Ding ding we have a winner. Most of the guys in my group have these and love them. Luckily for me I only seem to spend half a morning in it before I get down every year. :chuckle:

Maybe I'm asking the wrong question...Maybe I should asking: where are you hunting at? :tung:

I've taken a length of highline rope and actually tied myself to the tree at the chest with just a bow knot. If I nod off this will keep me up there and if something comes along I can simply reach down and pull it in one motion and stand up. I do have a tree chest and belt attachment also but you can fall out of the stand with those on. The rope will keep you upright and on stand.

sportsmans guide has a similar version to the gorilla model..getting arm rests and foot rest are key to sitting a long time..u can always upgrade the pad

I have a few gorilla stands never a problem with any of them.
