Hey guys,
Looking at this forum, there's a good number of knowledgeable people on here. So for the question.
This is our parties first year hunting the Olympic unit but we want to hunt down low, near the brothers and skoke wilderness areas. I've seen a few posts on here for that unit but mostly for elk and most were saying the northern part of the unit. I understand the area is very vertical, which is no problem for us. Does anyone have tips as far as areas to avoid because of too many people in certain areas up there? Is this typically a very busy unit for general firearm deer?
We are going up next weekend with snow shoes to do some scouting and just get an idea of what exactly we will be dealing with.
Thanks for all your help!

Weekends (opening day especially) are busy, but not the pumpkin patch I hear about. Roads would be the busiest. Some of the areas have old logging roads that do a lot of connecting and guys like to drive a jeep for hours looking for animals.

Hey thanks for the quick reply. I love the hunters that try and spot from the roads, this gives me a better chance of them not seeing anything and us filling our tags. Don't get me wrong, I've seen my fair share of game running down the middle of roads but I just feel your chances are so much betterwhen your willing to go where other people don't want to.
This pumpkin patch you speak of sounds interesting. Looking forward to this high altitude hunting.
