Just got it back from Little Willy's today. He did a great job, with quick turnaround. It will be a nice keepsake.

Love the coloring on that bear!

Sweet color! That is what I do with all my bears after getting a full and half mount, they look nice that way and it's way more affordable. what's the story on the bear? Spring hunt?

This was my first bear. We hit the trail for the hike at around 4:30am. Using headlamps for the first couple miles or so. Got up towards the berry fields around 7:30-8:00am. Started glassing an area my buddy pulled a bear from 10 days prior. Slowly made our way up around a large bowl in which we had an awesome vantage point. Fresh blueberries everywhere (the smell of those berries was absolutely amazing!) Anyways...took our time glassing and watching the bowl. Saw this bear down there eating, he stuck out like a sore thumb with that bright blonde coat against the darker background. My buddy shot the distance with a range finder...about 300 yards. We decided we had time to creep closer. Range finder read 180 yards this time.
I found a nice log to prop the pack against, got a nice prone set up. It was actually a slight downhill shot which made me a bit nervous. I got locked in with the .300 Win Mag and let one fly. At first he jumped and ran about 20 ft, but then started rolling. And roll he did! He must have rolled down a couple hundred ft from where I shot him. At that point it was hi-fives and adrenaline release. Making our way down took awhile. It was really steep. Packing back out of that hole nearly killed me. I guess about 8 miles round trip. Awesome experience!
Here is the pic I posted before...

Very pretty color, good write up. That cat is already thinking about pissing on it.

The cat was NOT happy with me when I brought it home. She started acting weird and chewing on the fur, so I put it up out of her destructiveness!

looks good Troy!

:yeah: I just executed our cat (peed on clean clothes in laundry basket).
That is one of my favorite bears I've seen yet. What do they charge to just tan the hide? PM if you don't mind saying.
