I had posted open fishing seat, but i seems like nobody is interested in winter fishing. :chuckle: Anyhow I ended up going with my old reliable fishing nut friend . It started great with first hookup of nice size ,yet no legal resident chinook 5 minutes into fishing- I was running 3.5" "Red racer " 42" behind purple flasher about 20' from 12lb ball . After that 2 more shakers on the hook .I missed one which unhooked itself and on the end of slack tide we moved closer to Whidbey Island. By 10:30 switched to Tomic plug and the weather is turning -winds picking up . We have endured waves pounding and constant struggle for another 2 hours and got 2 other shakers and then called it quits.Checker at the boat launch in Everett had no report of any fish caught ,there were 4 other boats on the water.

At least you catch shakers and wild ones. I haven't even been able to do that up here when I go out. So, I spent four hours weeding the garden yesterday which will lead to more food in my fridge than fishing would have. :chuckle:

I have to agree with you Loki..... on the other hand I was looking at Bloodydecks report from the San Juans and it seems like there is lot more fish then around Everett and Seattle . They had 17 fish for 10 boats :bash: .

Good for you getting out there Martin. I finally sold my boat and should be into my new Jetcraft by next weekend. I test drove it yesterday in heavy winds and nasty chop. I have to say, it's the best riding aluminum boat I've ever been in! I'll take you out when I get it all set up. Hopefully we'll put a couple of blackies in it!

Wish I knew where they were and what they are doing that I don't (everything... :chuckle: ). I see a few boats out on Lopez Flats and one or two between Decatur and James. I talked to a guy last week that had gotten a few, one keeper, near Strawberry Island by Cypress.
I'll bide my time for the lingcod/cabezon opener and those tasty spot prawns, and get the garden up and running.

Its time to hit Mid Channel! Now we need the strong winds to die.

Great looking ride Ripper , I hope you're getting air seats or does it really ride that smooth ? ...and big thanks for the invite -you know I enjoy fishing with you and crabbing with FC (When he can pull my pots) :chuckle:
Wildmanoutdoors I would hit the Midchannel ,the only problem is the ride time and gas cost........maybe we'll do later this year. Yes the winds are PITA ,there were only 2 boats left saturday -us and 2 guys in Parker cabin boat.
They didn't have fish either .......but like I said looking at BD site some guys got few on saturday around the Islands .......
