I will be going. It will be the 19,20, and 21 of april. Most of the range is set up in a logged out area but the south part of the course was in some timber. Has anyone talked with Chinook archers about it?

Thought I would mention that this shoot is held on state DNR land and it will be patrolled that weekend by an enforcement officer.  Just a heads up to those who might be coming out for the shoot.

Just leave the Pendleton in the truck.  Last time I did the shoot there were several drunken idiots and bottles of booze left on the trail.  Real classy with kids out there.

Yeah... It stays in camp. Its amazing the yahoos out there leaving beer cans and trash along the course.

My post sounded a little like I was accusing you of being one of those guys.  Just for the record that was not my intention.  The bottles I seen were a little lower on the shelf than Pendleton.

All DNR land out here  is Discover Pass area's.  It doesn't have to be posted. You don't see the sign out there because Laural Rd. is a county road, ut once you get off the road you are on state land.  And on the trash part, just remember that this shoot is held in someones backyard.  Some of us actually live out here. Oh ya, there is also a local WDFW Officer that lives in the area, he's been here about a year now.

I won't be making it but dang that sucks. I bet there will be some serious tickets handed out because you know they will be checking. probably 90% of the people won't think about it and show up without one :yike:

so is the discover pass for parking a vehicle on any dnr land or just designated areas. or do i need one to just be on dnr land period?
Title: Re: Klickitat 3d shoot
Post by: motg9_6 on April 04, 2013, 04:39:01 PM
DNR land period
they try to make it out likes its certain areas but when you compare a map the the map on their site its all DNR land

REGARDING THE DISCOVERY PASS DISCUSSION:

I just spoke with the club president and Discovery Passes WILL NOT be needed.  Chinook Archers has leased this land from the State and it covers all activities during the 3 days of the shoot.  A food vendor will be at the event.

Also, while the website is down, their Facebook page is functional and has a downloadable flyer on the event.

Apparently their biggest challenge right now is a mud hole at the entrance from the paved road. They'll be getting a load of gravel dropped to fill it in on that prior Wednesday or earlier.

Regarding the Facebook issue, make sure you're looking for "Chinook Archers"....not Klickitat 3D.
