Its been several years since I have muzzy and am thinking I would give it a go this year since I'm going to be out of state during archery season.
I have an old Knight MK85 that I bought new a LONG time ago and its a good gun, just thinking I need a new one.
My buddy bought a Vortec NW edition a couple of years ago and its pretty cool, but I just want to hear what others have to say about whats out there.
I will stick with modern and .50 cal, other than that I have never even shot anything but FFg
Thanks.

Traditions and vortecs are cheap garbage in my opinion but guys like em so to each there own. If I was gonna buy a new muzzy today it would be a Knight disc extreme. Anything Knight is building these days is absolutely top shelf stuff!

I think someone had a New In box Knight for sale on the classifieds?

I shouldbe getting a new Knight model this week that is western legal and I believe a big step forward past the DISC Extreme - althought it is awful ding-dang-hard to beat the Extreme - or even your MK in a lot of ways...
Here is mine but I do use the Extreme a whole more than I do the MK anymore...

It's barely spring and already my mind is polluted by work. I saw your thread title and my first thought was a John Deere loader, once I came to my senses I'd agree with CoyoteChuck52.

Geez is it just me and my dry sense of humor, I thought the ladies here would be all over this one telling him all about washing machines they have.
On a side note. A guy I know told his wife to get all gussied up on day before coming home he was going to take her to place she hadn't been, he got home and showed her to the laundry room! :chuckle:

I am thinking of buying a knight, what is the difference between the bighorn and the disc extreme? Is there any advantage to the bolt action or is there other improvements that make the disc a better gun?

I believe that the DISC offers additional advantages that the Big Horn can not. The DISC is a bolt gun and does not operated with a plunger that can be blown back. The breech area is more secure not allowing stuff to drop into the breech area. It does a better job protecting the cap. And with the bolt face the cap can not fall off the nipple post.

Plus at any time you might want to you can convert it back to a 209 igniton and top it with a scope and hunt with during rifle season...

well said Mike

Yep,
Knight disk extreme.

:yeah: I have had my disc for a couple of seasons now. It is by far superior than any other western muzzleloader. now it is going to be time to try the ultra light.

I'd love to check out the ultralight. From pics, it just looks like a disk extreme with a shorter barrel and a better stock?
