Eberlestock, I have the X2 and love it. Very versatile.
I have been looking at those and reading the reviews. One thing I have read is that rifle hunters don't really like the shoulder straps on them because they make it tough to carry your rifle on a sling. I mostly archery hunt but would like the versatility. :dunno:

X2 here as well for rifle hunting. Never had a problem with the shoulder straps. The X2 is the most versatile and rugged (this thing can pack some weight) I have owned.
The quality is hands down better then any of my Badlands I own (Super day, Monster Fanny)
I have read some do not like how high it rides, but I have not had an issue with that at all.
The one thing they could make better is give the option to change out the belt strap like the other Eberlestock packs can.
I paid $169.00 for the X2 through Amazon. I believe this is the best $169.00 I have spent hunting.
I thought about getting a gun scabbard for mine, but after using a season I realized I do not need a scabbard.
My Claw strap stays where you put it, and when hiking I use my chest compression strap to hold my rifle sling so I am hands free.
I can also put my rifle butt in the side lower pocket, and strap the barrel to the pack near the top, as a poor mans rifle carrier if needed.
The pack only weighs 4lbs 8oz, adding a scabbard would add almost 2 lbs to it.
Have I said this this is tough?

Best pack I've ever owned, and I've had a lot. Versatile, tough, extremely comfortable. I packed out my elk quarters this year with this pack and was blown away at how well it performed, especially for being as relatively small as it is. This year I'm gonna spring for a Eberlestock Blue Widow.
