Just wondering why everybody thinks that they have an AR, mini 14, SKS ect, and they are asking $ 1000-4000. Isnt this just fueling the fire? Just asking. :bdid:
-
Kinda depends on which side of the 'fence' one is on.
I'm all for supply and demand. If you stocked up on ARs last year and now can make a profit, smart move!
What's "fueling the fire" is not some guy asking double last years price, but the dude willing to pay it! These weapons, like any product, are worth what someone will pay.
Time will come when this market falls back to earth. (assuming a ban does not get passed)

..
They're worth what someone is willing to pay, AND what someone is willing to let them go for. People are willing to pay $15 for my PMAGs, but I'm not willing to let them go for less than $30 ea.

I love the principles of capitalism.... If I need an ar now, I can get one... Sure it'll cost more then 3 mths ago, but it is there. I'm just mad I didn't foresee this again, and get the ar10 I always wanted >:( Still though, I can get one if I really want it!

If you don't like the "free" market setting the price for these rifles, the government would be happy to step in and do it. You might not like the price they set.
How do you feel when the price of labor goes up? Asking for a raise is just fueling the fire.

Now that is a series of GREAT replies!
Free market at it's finest (with some Gov't interference mixed in just for fun).
The LAST thing we should want is any kind of price control in a market. The Gov't has ABSOLUTELY NO BUSINESS in the open market.

90% of the time I see someone complaining about the current pricing, it has something to do with the fact they don't have one (whatever that item is).

Just look at ammo prices and hoarding.$84.99 for 525 rounds of 22lr retail!
Some people get it a lot of people do not.on this forum it is rare that every one sees eye to eye.
Went to Tulalip Cabelas and they had lots of ammo.Little inflated but still resonable.

We need a great and dear leader to determine what is "reasonable." He will set prices for ammunition and magazine capacities as well.
Awesome, dude :bash: :bash:

All I know is I'm glad to see things are loosening up. There are still plenty of people asking outrageous prices but for those of us that aren't freaking out and buying just because its hard to find, things are slowly but surely filtering in. I just got an order from midway for a bunch of 22 cal bulk bullets, and notification that an order of p mags is ready to ship, I was able to call and add a little to the order so I wasn't paying $10 shipping on 2 $14 pmags.
I spoke with Larry at Mega Arms last week, he told me they have a 2 year backorder list before they finally quit accepting orders :yike: they're looking at buying some more equipment to cut down on lead time but are having a hard time justifying it seeing as things are already slowing down and there will be a major lull after this (or so he thinks).

He is right, a lot of small munafacturers like Mega went under the last time this happened. They invested in a market that fell apart after the demand fell.
