Post by: fishingfool on March 16, 2013, 06:08:11 PM
Hey Rainshadow, I got the knife blanks in the mail today!! Yeehaaaww, thank you sir. They look great, my wife wheeled me down to the basement survival enclosure so I could start looking for the best slabs. It will be a while before I can get much done, I'm 9 days post-op with foot surgery-- non weight bearing, possibly 8 weeks total confinement. Hey, I can plot'n plan, can't I?? Tight lines, fishingfool. :hello:

Have fun! Make sure to heal up priority 1. Don't re-injure!

Hey Boss 300, it will be a while before I can really get after the knives, will update as allowed. My present wheelchair is a light weight, powered by one SU' thats a spousal unit. New cast today, he wants another look friday next, if alls well I will get an air-boot with weight bearing allowed. Then, I can access the off-road model wheelchair, 500 cc Can-Am. Got my fingers crossed. Tight lines ff.

Hey Rainshadow, got some good news today from my surgeon. Went in for the first evaluation, looks good, if all goes well he will put me in an air-boot/ splint next friday, weight bearing, no less. Re- injure, no, this is an ongoing "dance" if you will, I go in about every 18-24 months to have the parts removed who are making the most noise. With the air-boot I can get on the knives much sooner than I had  thought earlier. My wife is busy trying to figure which one will fit her hand, got lots of help! Pics to follow when I can. tight lines,ff  :hello:
Title: Re: knife blanks Plans delayed
Post by: fishingfool on April 14, 2013, 02:53:40 PM
Hey Rainshadow, a quick update on the recovery from foot surgery. On april 7 we found out the wound is infected. Things ramped up in a hurry, IV antibiotics on a 12 hour non stop, wound care center, vacuam unit on the foot, hyperbaric chamber for 15 treatments, wow, busy week. Bottom line; they stop the infection or the foot comes off. So, the knife project is delayed till they get a handle on this, one way or another. Will keep you updated and when I can get back on track I will let you know. Tight lines, ff :hello:

Hey cousebitten and rainshadow, thank you gentlemen for the words of encouragement, it's going to be one heck of a battle. In addition to all the pills and treatments they told me to eat an additional 85 grams of protein each day. They leave no stone unturned.  Tight lines, ff
