Roach rips possible erosion of state gun owner privacy
Republican State Senator Pam Roach furiously ripped what she sees as an attempt to expose Washington State gun owners to privacy invasions during a meeting Tuesday of the Public Record Exemptions Accountability Committee, also known as the “Sunshine Committee.”

We may need to push our legislators to ensure we will not be expose the media abuse exhibited by the Journal News in New York. Remember the publishing of the names and addresses of law-abiding holders of gun permit licenses in maps on the internet. It was one of the most offensive, irresponsible, and agenda driven media abuses I have ever seen. The media and some of our legislators can be equally irresponsible if we let them.
We have to push back against these potential abuses of our private information. If there is room for interpretaiton in the law, then we need to set the exemption in concrete so the media cannot get our private information.
We owe Senator Pam Roach a thank you for pointing out political maneuvers, but we also need to ask her how we can keep our information private.

Subject:
Keeping CPL Holders Private Information Private
Dear Senator Roach,
I watched the Sunshine Committee meeting conversation regarding keeping CPL private information private; it was very interesting. I would first like to thank you for pointing out the political maneuvers by City Attorney Pete Holmes to bring up the exemption of CPL holders private information.
However, this is a very serious issue that has been demonstrated by the media abuse in which the Journal News in New York published the names and addresses of law-abiding gun permit holders on the internet in interactive maps.
How can we ensure CPL holder information is kept private and not open to abuse by the media or incorrect interpretation of the law by law enforcement agencies or judges? The information should never be allowed to be made public.
As you know, law-abiding gun owners and guns are being unjustly demonized and emotions are running high. In my opinion we are witnessing a lynch mob mentality in all of the gun control legislation that has been introduced during the last few months. If there is any way these “mobs” can abuse law-abiding CPL holders, I personally believe they will.
Thank you.
Sincerely,

I am a personal friend of Pam. I have know her since the ealry 90's. I have been to her house a few times and have shot side by side with her many times. You can ALWAYS count on Pam to do the right thing when it comes to gun legislation. By the way, Pam is a pretty good shot. She know what real gun control means.
