This could be the winning fish this year!
-
Interesting
-
almost as big as the 34.5 inch fish i caught out of there 10 years ago.. :)
-
If someone catches it they are going take it home.
-
Very interesting! I wondered if the chromosomes lined up close enough for Salmon to spawn successfully with rainbows/steelhead. What a fish this would be if it became wide spread!
-
I will be after him again this year :fishin:
-
The only problem is ............. the guy at the store has been talking about "Snagger" since about 1995 at least :dunno:
Went in to buy night crawlers, he was telling a customer "at least three people I know of have hooked Snagger on this here"
Plus how would they know Snagger was a "hybrid" if nobody has caught him :dunno:
Just sayin :chuckle:
Definitely some big fish in there though......
-
I know this sounds like a huge fish story but, I was fishing the North end of the lake two years ago on opening morning. I had the pole out the back trolling my favorite lure.. Anyway I looked back to see a huge bite. As I reached for the pole it got pulled into the drink. All I could see was the pole going back in the water. I can not be sure it was "Snagger", but my feeling is it was..

:yeah:

Catfish Hunter look out. Snagger is the new(old) top dog(cat?) in town.

How long is Snagger's proposed life span?

Catfish hunter! Haha!!! First thing I thought of.
-
supposedly the WDFW bio has netted him and taken the measurements.
He had roostertail two years ago in his mouth and they caught him before the derby last year and removed it ;)
and as the story goes on..............
-
Is what your sayin that is a picture of the fish being measured is Snagger? If so why is his eyeball centered as if he his dead and not alive? :dunno:
-
on second look, the fish is for sure dead....and appears to be only around six pounds...
-
I guess those hybrids really do exist. Never heard of it before, but it sounds like they are experimenting with it in the lab.
Mandown,
Where did you get the pic? I'd like to hear more about it.
Not sure 1 fish could be responsible for the Snagger phenomenon.
Most of the really big fish I've seen from Mineral are released hatchery broodstock. They weigh several pounds when they put them in. So there are quite a few that size in the lake.
-
Bullkllr, I got this sent to me from a buddy of mine. His brother-in-law works for the state or works at a bio lab? I am thinking this is a real fish? But who knows? The town is small and depends on fisherman to stay alive. However there are very big fish in the lake and I enjoy going after "Snagger". I believe many other do as well.
-
I think snagger hangs out with Bigfoot.
-
I was up at the lake on Saturday. Could see some osprey doing some fishing. Looks like some nice fish are in the lake waiting for the opener.
-
This is the weekend. We are headed up tomorrow. Good luck!
-
One time, I was trolling past the Mineral Lake Band Camp, and Snagger put a flute in her mouth.
-
:chuckle: :chuckle:

We only used wedding rings with meal worm to catch all ourbfish.
The crowes were the smallest they have ever been. No where near as crowed.

Good Job Pete! I got out to lake Margaret, which is above my house. But, they didn't stock any Trip's. Still, it was fun to get out and catch a bunch of shakers.
