I'm thinking one of the bulls I've been getting pictures of has just recently lost his antlers. I just saw him with the other bull last Sunday. And got pictures of the 5x8 just before I got pictures of this one:
-
Need help finding them sheds let me know :chuckle:
-

Here is the other bull, a 5x8. These pictures were taken two minutes prior to the first picture I posted.

:chuckle: I'm sorry but that made me start laughing.

That's awesome they're still sticking around. Should be able to pick those sheds up!

They look the same to me, minus the antlers. Not that I know what Im talking about but the color fade on the neck is identical and the jawbone structure looks exactly the same.. Dunno if that matters.

The first pic does look like the fur near the ears might be raised slightly.
-
Are those from the same cam bobcat, or in the same general area?
-
Here are some cows for reference:
-
I say yes ;)

All from the same camera. I only have one in the area. I re-stocked it today with another 25 pounds of cob.

Looks like you could have a present laying around for ya then. Better start looking around.
Hard to tell if any of those have stubs on they're heads though.

Here's a picture of both bulls together. The one that I think is now missing his antlers is on the left.
-
Here he is by himself...

Start searching.

I will be looking this weekend, but it won't be easy. Lots of swampy area out there, and brush. And no telling where those elk spend a lot of their time.
Of course I was hoping to keep enough feed out there that they'd spend enough time in front of my camera drop their antlers right there. :)
But it's probably not going to work out quite that well.
-
No doubt thats a bull
-
How quick do they go through that 25lbs of cob?

It seems to only last about 2 to 4 days. But they still come around to check for more.

Is it pretty remote area or what? How do you haul that stuff out there, quad or back?

I only got one other picture of it, but can't see the head very well. Here's the other picture:

It's only 1/4 mile from a road. So I've been just carrying it in a bag over my shoulder like Santa Clause. If it were further I'd use a backpack and I'd probably take 50 pounds in at a time.
-
Keep up ur routine until the other guys sheds out and its game on

I think I will have to buy another bag of cob this weekend. This could get expensive! :bash:
I want to get some salt out there as well.

Ok gotcha, Just figuring out what I may need to start doing myself :chuckle:
-
Yep.
-
looked like a bull to me
-
Bobcat, where are you getting your cob at? I usually get mine at the feed bin cause I'm just off 176th and its only about 14 bucks for 50#
-
That's where I've been getting it.
It's only about a 3 minute drive from my house.
-
any luck on the search buddy? Or have you not went out yet..
-
Those are exciting pics Bobcat! They're in good shape for this time of year. Glad you're having fun. Thanks for letting us watch too.

I didn't look this weekend. Figured I'd stay out of there for a bit so that hopefully I don't push them out of the area. Next weekend I'll have to get in there with more feed, so I'll look for sheds at that time.

Those are very nice pics. Thanks for sharing.

without question. Looks like he has a lil donut started which means he was shed within a few days of the pic most likely

I got some more pictures of both bulls. Checked the camera this evening, and I spent two hours out there looking for sheds. Found nothing. Then I get home and look at the pictures. I have pictures of the three bulls from just this morning. The 5x8 hasn't lost his yet, nor has the spike. All the cob was gone. I took out the last that I had, which was only about 10 pounds. I'll have to pick up another 50 pound bag tomorrow and take some more out there. Might get some salt going out there as well.
Here are some pictures:

A few more...
-
great pics, it would be cool to see what the 5x8 turns into in a few years
-
