Title: Smossy invite to get his first elk, from Rtspring
Post by: rtspring on March 28, 2013, 10:13:00 PM: Smossy, we have spoken a few times on here. I would like to invite you to hunt elk. You seem like a man with a head on his shoulders that made a mistake but learned from it.

So here is my offer, if you would like to hunt elk on the east side, gmu 346 cow or spike bull I will take you hunting. All you need to bring is tags and your bow. I hunt rifle but will tag along and help as much as you want.

Just let me know!

Wow. Im touched, honestly. Id actually love that, Elk is the #1 thing that Id love to bag. Sounds like a great time, Im there!

Glad to see your willing to take the time to take me to the elk/help me out. I really am almost at a loss for words right now lol.
Never had someone just blatantly offer to take me on a hunt. Like I said, Im totally there! Just shoot me a time and place, sounds like a great learning experience even If I don't fill a tag!

They will definitely change it. Already in proposed regs. They are opening Bumping and Nile for cow/spike this year rather than Little Naches. Might still be open for spike only, but not sure.

But it is open for late season, spike and antlerless. No need to wait for the regulations to come out. They already have the proposed reg's out. See below (Little Naches is GMU 346)

Why not invite him along for the modern season as long as he has the proper license and tag he can hunt with his bow during your rifle season.

Not quite sure Smossy would like standing next to me with a Bow and arrow when I am holding a 300 RUM during Rifle Season for Spikes! I would be betting he would NOT get an elk!! My good nature only goes so far, ha ha

I know exactly where I want to hunt for elk (in the ALW) this year but I don't have a clue what I'm doing while hunting. I keep running into elk and elk sign in the middle of Archery season. I know a few pockets where they hang out but I just don't have the hunting knowledge. I've always been backpacking cross-country when I run into them. I've been reading as much as I can trying to study up but that will only go so far. Experience is something you can only get one way. I think I'll be going it alone doing the best I can with whatever knowledge I can get before my first hunting season. We'll see how it goes. I'm hedging on my knowledge of the area to get me where I need to be. I'm just hoping inexperience doesn't blow my chance.

This website bans based off tone, as Smossy has been banned a couple times before because of it. Your post was derogatory, and the moderators have been clearing up that issue as best as possible.

Rt, truly a great offer and you seem like a stand up guy. Maybe we will cross paths someday and I can buy you a beer! Most elk hunters would never share any information, so good for you and tryingto help a guy out.
