Title: Finally did it....2013 Hoyt Spyder 34
Post by: h20hunter on March 30, 2013, 08:32:36 AM
Well, I finally got time to post this up. Bought my new Spyder 34 from Nock Point. As it has been mentioned the guys at Nock are a little rough around the edges....just like me! Anyway, I had a great experience and feel that I've bough a great bow as well as a bow shop. I picked up a doz Easton Axis arrows, a QAD Ultra Rest, a 5 pin Spott Hogg, and a new release. I've taken it out to the range twice and the hardest thing to do i pull the damn arrow out of the target. This thing hits like a hammer. Elk here I come.

Saw a guy shooting one today on the flat range at skookum... looked very smooth and sounded whisper quiet... The girlfriend saw it and developed some serious bow envy too.

Not yet.......I'm dialed in enough that I can do so.....how far out to you suggest the crony? 5 feet? 10 feet?

Haven't shot my crony with a bullet yet....I'll try not to do it with an arrow.

D-Rock.....any guesses on speed?

290 shooting logs is pretty solid.....I was thinking in that fps range. Gonna have to take the crony next time out.

Been thinking a lot about the 2013 Hoyt Spyder 30. That is such a sweet looking bow. It runs about $1,300 right? Can't remember.

Looking at getting mine at Nock Point too. Although I am not stuck on getting a certain brand, Hoyt's do shoot smooth. Good luck and happy shooting!

Is their a noticeable difference in forgiveness and accuracy going from a 7" BH to a 6" BH?
Title: Re: Finally did it....2013 Hoyt Spyder 34
Post by: dkecoleman on April 06, 2013, 11:23:21 PM
The forgiveness differences you see in brace height will depend alot on your draw length, For me, brace height isn't that big of a factor, my draw is only 26.5, if you have a 30 inch draw it will be more noticable, because the arrow will be on the string alot longer.

Well, you know what they say about guys with a big draw length.

Thanks for the info. Found a place that had it for $800 also. Would like to shoot it a bit also. Have yet to do that. Been working so much lately that the gym has been the last thing on my mine.

Thanks for the info h20.
