Well, I finally got time to post this up. Bought my new Spyder 34 from Nock Point. As it has been mentioned the guys at Nock are a little rough around the edges....just like me! Anyway, I had a great experience and feel that I've bough a great bow as well as a bow shop. I picked up a doz Easton Axis arrows, a QAD Ultra Rest, a 5 pin Spott Hogg, and a new release. I've taken it out to the range twice and the hardest thing to do i pull the damn arrow out of the target. This thing hits like a hammer. Elk here I come.
-
Nice, bought the same bow myself. What poundage are you pulling?
-
70...........pulls smooth and feels like less than my previous bow.
-
She is beauty ..... did you given her a name yet? So how come I see you here on forum Saturday morning and not in the woods locating some Yogi? You got hot ticket in your pocket (I didn't get drawn) .
H20 let me know guys if I can tag along with you or need help out there .....I'm at least an hour drive away :bash: but would help you on the bear hunt or scouting .
-
 hope you smoke something withit!
-
I hope to as well. Was out yesterday am and didn't see any new sign.....With this weather I'm sure we will soon.

-
Sent you a text.
-

-
Nice shooting today champ
-
Thanks....just got to get her dialed in. If i do my part she shoots pretty decent.
-
Saw a guy shooting one today on the flat range at skookum... looked very smooth and sounded whisper quiet... The girlfriend saw it and developed some serious bow envy too.
-
What is the axle to axle length?
-
What is the axle to axle length?
Spyder 34 is 34" ata. 30 is 30".
-
I really hope you put an arrow thru an elk with it.
-
Me and you both....the wife also of course.
-
 grats on the new bow. did you chronograph it with your arrows? I just pick up my spyder on Wednesday :IBCOOL:
-
Not yet.......I'm dialed in enough that I can do so.....how far out to you suggest the crony? 5 feet? 10 feet?
-
5 ft probably good
-
Haven't shot my crony with a bullet yet....I'll try not to do it with an arrow.
D-Rock.....any guesses on speed?
-
3 ft would be fine :chuckle:
-
I'm guessing right around 290 fps
-
Can't see it being much more than that.
-
290 shooting logs is pretty solid.....I was thinking in that fps range. Gonna have to take the crony next time out.
-
I'm just guessing
-
Excellent! Nice buy
-

-
I stand corrected this year good luck laying the smack down on one
-

Been thinking a lot about the 2013 Hoyt Spyder 30. That is such a sweet looking bow. It runs about $1,300 right? Can't remember.
Looking at getting mine at Nock Point too. Although I am not stuck on getting a certain brand, Hoyt's do shoot smooth. Good luck and happy shooting!
-
$960 for the bow....just gotta equip it.
-
The Spyder 30's are selling for $899, bare bow. I picked up one two weeks ago, I love it, so far. Congrats H20, on the new bow.
-
Thanks...gonna be out tomorrow shooting hopefully.
-
Bought my Spyder from Doug at Great Northwest for 800!
-
Is their a noticeable difference in forgiveness and accuracy going from a 7" BH to a 6" BH?
-
The forgiveness differences you see in brace height will depend alot on your draw length, For me, brace height isn't that big of a factor, my draw is only 26.5, if you have a 30 inch draw it will be more noticable, because the arrow will be on the string alot longer.

Well, you know what they say about guys with a big draw length.
Thanks for the info. Found a place that had it for $800 also. Would like to shoot it a bit also. Have yet to do that. Been working so much lately that the gym has been the last thing on my mine.
Thanks for the info h20.
-
