Alright finally got my money to get a brand new truck it must be crew cab ( big family) and 4x4. Having trouble deciding on what to get anyone have any recomendations.
-
DODGE!
Is there any other kind of truck?! :chuckle: :tung:
-
What are you looking for? Is gas prices an issue? Do you want reliability? Four wheel drive? limited slip or posi? Lots of questions
-
:yeah: I got an 06 QC short bed 4x4 cummins. And ill never buy another make. Power stroke or duramax can't touch a cummins for power or mileage.
-
Ford ! the only thing about big trucks is the gas .....You do not drive much then your good ! :dunno: :chuckle:
-
Can't beat a hemi or a cummins so whats the question? Dodge ram dominates ford and chevy these days. And beats toyota :twocents:
-
I've driven Dodge, Ford, and Chevy all for work. My personally owned truck will always be a Toyota. :twocents:

Personally I don't think any one of the big 3 dominate the other. They are all good but they all have their downfalls. . Dodge and cummins are great till the front end wears out. Fords are great till the spark plugs seize in the heads. Chevys are great till the transmission craps out...my point is they all have their problems.
-
Need more info. Big family? How much room do you need? Doing much or any towing? Budget?
-
DODGE. Do your routine maintenance and upgrade to better parts up front as time goes by and youll have a truck youll die with!
-
CUMMINS!

Will be on here soon moving and nowhere to put it im gonna take a huge loss paid twenty grand for it and only used it three times due to work.

true, i have heard that the newest dodges have problems with the weight of the engine on the front end. but out of the newest vehicles they look the best :twocents:

diesel; id say full sized cummins
gas: any really just a matter of what your style preference is but i know a few guys that love their full sized tundras

You have a good dealership in the town you live in. Sounds like a truck like this would fit the bill. I ordered it from factory with the options I wanted. Only way to go if you have the time for it to be built.
-
Cummins what?
-
Diesel duramax hands down. Unless you can wait till the new half ton dodge diesel comes out, 30 mpg on the highway sounds pretty nice!
Gas get a tundra, blows any other gas rigs out if the water.

2500hd quad cab all the way. Yes its a chevy. for a truck, feels like a caddy
-
I've had great luck with the chev's but I'm partial to a good ride !
-
I have a 03 dodge diesel but if i wasnt towing and could afford a gas engine id go with toyota with the big V8, couple buddies have them and there nice trucks. Built like a 3/4 ton with lots of power. Could still tow whatever u want if you wanna tow somthin later.
-
I get 26mpg going 65 on the freeway rolling on 35" TOYO MT's with my cummins.
-
You will get more truck for your money buying a Dodge. Chevy will cost the most but be the best ride, with the highest re-sale value, and best built out of the main three brands. I sell around 150 Dodge, Chevy, and Ford trucks a year. I am not one of the idiots that is so loyal to a brand that I will say anything I can to make one better than the other. In have owned multiple models of all three brands and have liked all of them. Once again I will say that Dodge will give you more bang for your buck and If I was buying new that is what I would do because i am budget minded but Chevy builds the best riding truck out of the three. A Chevy Duramax with an Allison trany simply cant be beat but you will pay thru the nose for it. A Dodge with a cummins is a good truck that most folks will be happy with. Ford is ok to but if money isnt a problem than get a Chevy. If budget is what you want the Dodge is cheaper and the Ford isnt any better. Good luck!
-
Seeing $65k Ram trucks recently, I have a hard time saying you'll get more for your money with them. They're all expensive now, especially with a diesel. But it doesn't sound like he needs a diesel since he's not towing. If you want a true 4 door in a Ram, it'll have to be '09 and newer for a half ton or '10 and newer for a 2500 or 3500.
-
I got mine last August for 20k. I don't buy new cars hahaha. Although I did hear a rumor that cummins was gonna drop dodge cause the emissions is killin them :dunno:
I heard a different rumor that Toyota was considering puttin a CAT in their tundras which would make for a damn good truck
-
No offense to Toyota owners, but those Tundras are butt ugly!

They look like someone punched a Dodge in the nose, then stepped on it for good measure

Yes there is, Thank God.
I have heard rumors that some guys actually buy those things on purpose.

With a family in mind I'd say go with the Mega cab ram... huge backseat

:yeah:
Biggest thing my boys complained about in my Ford is the lack of room in the back seats! Uncomfortable back seats. Love my Ford Super Duty, but the Ram with the Magnum Hemi would be high on my list of non-hauling/non-towing 1/2 tons to buy if I was looking that route. The Ford Super crew is pretty comfy too. So... Define your next truck needs- 1/2 ton or 3/4-1 ton? Will you be towing again in a few years?

Get a 5.9 cummins with a manual, throw a aftermarket lift pump and some gauges in there and drive the truck until you die.
-
We have a 2011 Ford F-150 at work. I must say it has been pretty reliable considering we already have 60K on it. Doesn't drive real smooth but it's a work truck so what do you expect. I have been surprised by the durability (now towing, and not much off road). The one thing I have noticed is the seats in the back are super small and the seats in front are SUPER DUPER uncomfortable. Also, the gas mileage on it is rediculously awful. We split between highway and road about 45/65 and we only get 12 mpg on a good day.
-
Carl don't you have anything better to do than move these topics around?

:) go to the NADA site, plug in the info for equal trucks, 4 door, 4x4, v8, same amount of miles, etc. then compare 10 year old values. I think you'll be surprised.

We got a toyota tundra crew cab rock warrior edition. We love it and it is supe roomy. The seats in the back recline some.

Tundra. If you aren't towing I wouldn't spend the extra on a big diesel.
-
I love my crewcab D-max 2500hd. Rides like a cadillac, but I need a parking lot to turn it around in the woods.
-
Thanks to all of you for your help we bought a dodge 1500 crew 4x4. Has 5000 miles first new truckill put up pics as soon as wife shows me how.

Ford diesel solves that. ;)
