A  lot of us on this site have a cat fishing trip in mid-june to lyons ferry koa it;s on the snake river and then we fish up the palouse river for cat fish or in the snake itself. We usually use pieces of cut bait for the catfish.

I'm always looking for a good catfishing spot, but I'm in Spokane.  Hear things about Yakima River, suspect lower portion.  Caught a few at Lyons Ferry.  Caught a 19 lb cat out of Sprague lake before they Rotenoned it.  Problem with Snake and Columbia is the eating part.  Don't think I would eat anything out of those rivers.  Caught a bunch out of Brownlee ? spelling in between Oregon and Idaho many years ago.  Here there are some in Moses lake too, but I've never targeted those ones.  Might be an I-82 pond that has some catfish.

Yeah I'd think the best bet for the closest place would be the Mouth of the Yak and Bateman's Island area in Tri-Cities.  I know I-82 ponds there's a couple catfish but I'm sure you're not going to catch one on a regular occurrence.

I-82 ponds are your best bet. Try the one just off the UG roundabouts

I have seen the post from last years catfish rendezvous. I am an avid catfisherman and never knew about the gathering. Will there be one this year?

Oh yeah!!  Weekend of June 15th is the Hunt WA Catfish get together this year.  I think there is already a link in the Fishing section with everyone that is planning to attend.
