A man identified by the Tacoma News Tribune as Troy Neal, 28, is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday in relation to his apparent involvement in a fatal shooting incident outside an Auburn sports bar early Sunday; a case that underscores the futility of “feel good” gun laws that target the wrong people.

Thanks Dave. In addition, what remains to be seen is not only the amount of time this felon gets sentenced to, but how much of it he will actually serve. In our state, as in OR, it's quite common for these types of criminals to get early release and to then reoffend. The message we're sending is that we're going to make it harder for law abiding citizens to protect themselves against these criminals and we're not going to treat the criminals all that harshly. This is a huge mistake.

Great reporting, Dave. Thanks.
