My buddy and I are signed up for the Eastern WA gun hunt. Can we change to Western WA if we do so before the opener? Any tips on how to do this? Just a general tag, obviously. Thanks!

The only time I have heard of that being allowed was in the case of a WDFW mistake, a friend bought his license and tags early online and when received them he just put them in the drawer till season and he looked at them and they were wrong, he had to prove WDFW made the mistake because they were unwilling to switch them just by him asking for the change,
Good luck with that one, I don't know if it can be done or not really !! :dunno:

If you did not apply for a special permit then they will let you change tags as long as the season has not started.

you can change tacs up to the opening day. if you want to ml insted of modern you can switch up to the opener of modern.

the guys who answered are correct, you can change until the season opener. just go to any dealer that sells tags and if they don't know how they can call.

Passion,
clarification: I did apply for special tags, but I was not drawn. This is a general tag. Will that be allowed? Thanks.

Do I have to pay some sort of transfer fee?
Wouldn't surprise me with the WDFW.

Thats the catch, if you applied for special permits they will not let you switch now.
