I have a hard time thinking that drone will be around long.  :dunno:

I have to agree if they are used to harass people.

While I am pretty tolerant of others and try to keep an open mind and will follow rules weather I like them or not this would bring out the bad boy in me.

The commission meets soon.  Maybe we should ask for an emergency reg that allows for PETA drone hunting?

Probably wouldn't take a whole lot to mess with their 'drones'.  I doubt PETA would encrypt their RF.

5 minutes? 20 minutes?

So let me get this straight from takeoff to hunting area they'll have little time (let's say 30 minutes) to fly in, witness illegal hunting activity and fly out. Best of luck...
I'd actually be somewhat for it if it really had a shot of gathering hard evidence against poachers!!

I hope they spend their own money to buy a new one each time they get downed.  I don't think anyone should have to put up with that crap from those nut jobs.

They are going after archery because they dont want the drone to get shot down. There was an article not to long ago about some anti hunter group trying this at a private bird hunt. It was mysterisly shot down. :chuckle: :chuckle: and what people are calling drones these days are a joke. Most are arent much more then an remote control plane. there are some of the higher end UAVs that people use that will carry some nice video equipment, but these do not fly for more then 20 to 30 minutes at a time. Planes can stay up longer, if there is wind and he knows what he is doing. Even the RC jets dont fly for extended periods, it takes serious concentratration to fly those and a couple of spotters to help you fly them.
Even the planes that are ground forces use are just an overpriced RC plane. Same with the so called drones that police are using to help in emergency situations. 99% of what they calling drones fall into this RC plane category a real drone are the ones flying all over the world for intel or and being flown with deadly intent in other countries. they are much bigger and faster.
As far as the PETA drone is concerned its open season if I catch one buzzing me.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is an organization that publicly claims to represent the best interest of animals -- indeed their "ethical treatment." Yet approximately 2,000 animals pass through PETA's front door every year and very few make it out alive. The vast majority -- 96 percent in 2011 -- exit the facility out the back door after they have been killed, when Pet Cremation Services of Tidewater stops by on their regular visits to pick up their remains. Between these visits, the bodies are stored in the giant walk-in freezer PETA installed for this very purpose. It is a freezer that cost $9,370 and, like the company which incinerates the bodies of PETA's victims, was paid for with the donations of animal lovers who could never have imagined that the money they donated to help animals would be used to end their lives instead. In fact, in the last 11 years, PETA has killed 29,426 dogs, cats, rabbits, and other domestic animals.

Most animal lovers find this hard to believe. But seeing is believing. And if it is true that a picture speaks a thousand words, the following images speak volumes about who and what PETA really stands for.

This is old news,  PETA kills every pet they can get their hands on.

They carry these kits in their vans to kill pets

Don't worry they don't really know what the hell they are doing. I remember a few years back when they took a rubber zodiac  out on the skagit to "save the ducks" from evil hunters... Well you guessed it. They did it on a dead calm sunny day, and all they did was kick up resting birds helping a bunch of hunters limit out because of their stupidity!  :chuckle:

Didn't Tred Barta shoot a flying duck with a bow on his TV show? I saw it. Video fact. So why can't a drown be shot down with a bow? A little extra practice and an arrow with some kind of blunt heavy end. Don't waste a broad head.

Comes down to a choice between a drone and a deer or elk shoot the deer first then the drone.
