Got this guy at 10:30am. A friend of mine has a few that travel through his back yard. He wanted to get one with his bow and I had my shotgun with me. Long story short, I called one in and he shot but missed. He ran and slowed down right in line with my shotgun and bang. This was the second one for the day. His daughter before school at 5:30am took one with her bow. This was the first time I ever been turkey hunting. Thanks to my friend who let me hunt on his property and every on here who gave me calling advice. I feel pretty lucky because I know it wasn't supposed to be that easy.

Good looking bird . Looks like you took a bunch of feathers with the tail (another good move) you can always remove feathers if you take too many but it is real tough to add them when you did not take enough :chuckle:. I also like the fact it looks like you are planing to use almost everything from the bird. Now, go get another one!

Thanks everyone. We went out yesterday again and hit the blind at 4:30am. We waited to see if the group that showed up Monday morning would show up again (this is the group where his daughter took one). I think we heard every bird species except turkeys. Around 7am, when we were about to call it quits, two hens pop up over the ridge. One was the bearded lady that was in the group the day before. My friend thought it would be cool to get a bearded hen. We waited for a bit until he had a shot but he missed again. I have it on video and I'm trying to get it converted to post. Here was my view in the blind (no turkeys).
