I attached a pdf of draw odds by point total from the 2012 applications/tag numbers for all quality elk hunts in washington. I list each hunt by hunt number and name...so you may have to refer to 2012 regs to look up a specific hunt.

Just right, I have a similar Excel spreadsheet worked up, I haven't updated it for this year yet though. The numbers look pretty close to mine though.

Depressing!

Very cool.
Most guys look at this and think doom and gloom.
I am faithful every year with the permit process.
I have been fortunate to draw 2 quality mule deer rut hunt, 1 rut elk hunt, and 2 goat permits. 1 prior to 99.
I am looking someday to draw moose and sheep. The sheep will be a tough draw, but i remain hopeful.
I think of my chances, and hope to be lucky.
Do me a favor and do sheep and moose odds.
Thanks,
Bryan

Thank you! I love looking at this kind of stuff!

Look at hunt #2019.
That should be moved over to the OIL tag category. :chuckle:
Good work. I use the same method of determining odds.
The only difference I do is odds of winning versus percentage of winning. So my #2019 looks like a 1:89 for that 25 point holder.
I'm going to hedge to guess that the 26 point holder odds will be right around 1:100 for the 2013 draw.

I put up moose odds in the "Other Big Game" category just a minute ago...haven't looked at sheep yet.

great post!

Pretty crazy when people with 20+ points still have less then a 5% chance of drawing.
I am that guy that could have 50 points and still not draw. If I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all.

This was way cool of you to take the time to put together. As a holder of a 2013 multi season tag it will help me make some decision's. The biggest is wether I get the house done or go hunting! Guess if I have to put a dog house as a addition I won't need a permit for that.

Very cool. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for putting this together!
I can't turn up my 2012 regs - any chance someone can tell me what the hunt number was for Peaches Early Archery? I THINK it is 2062 ?? :dunno:
