Title: 338 Federal
Post by: smdave on August 10, 2007, 08:43:42 PM
Anyone else in the state have one of these? I won one this year at the Friends of the NRA Auction in Mount Vernon. I really like how it shoots but ammo is really hard to find.

Dave, you happen to be the first person I've even heard of having one!
I remember the talk when they first came out, but that was it, nothing after that. Is it comparable to the Win. 338? What case is it based on?

It is a necked up 308, the rifle I have is the Kimber 84m it weighs 6#s. The recoil is very mild. I bought the only three boxes of shells I could find from Everett to Bellingham. Dies are on the way for the reloader. Here is an article on it.
