I have some kind of bug chewing on wood in camper, looks like flakes of gun powder, what is best approach to ger rid of the little critters.
-
I'd start with a bug bomb no a few bug bombs , if that dosn't work you may want to purchas an ant eater !

Natural remedies (http://ohealthyeah.com/get-rid-bed-bugs-regain-comfort/) may be? I am very allergic to any chemicals, sprays, etc., so that essential oils are my everything in case of bugs attacks. Most of insects also hate burning aroma sticks, so that I guess different stores with Indian and Chinese goods could be rather helpful.

may want to look at 7 dust.. if you can handle the chemicals.. its not all that bad, just sprinkle on the rugs
-
Try borax and sugar based baits. If they are ant type pests these work very.
-
You likely have carpenter ants or termites... some of the ant baits work best because they bring it back to the colony and kill them all off.

I would tarp the entire thing, and bug bomb the crap out of it, inside and out. I've seen companies tent and fumigate entire houses like that. Air it out and spray paramitier spray on the under carriage.

Yeah that. I've done this personally and it works great. The chemical smell might make you a bit light headed for a while but after it airs out it will be good as new

I've used the scent free bug spray to run termites out of mine. It wasn't an infestation, I had just parked too close to a scrap log pile in September on a nice day (archery elk season). :bash: :bash: :bash: Not an issue when I left in the morning and it was cool out, but when I got back in the evening, they were coming out of the log pile by the thousands. My big bright white camper must have looked like a giant bleached stump. Didn't think much of it until I got inside and saw 15-20 crawling around. I had picked up some scent free bug spray some where, and I emptied a can and a half spraying any place those little SOB's could get in. Never an issue with them after that, so it must have worked. I have picked up more of the spray since then at Wally World in the sporting goods section.

A caution about essential oils is that some of them are highly toxic to dogs.
I recently read an article on it.
If you decide to try that route and have pets then you may want to google it.

More than likely have a water leak that's drawing the carpenter ants. But you usually see the carpenter ants in the lighting and running all over the place that's if you're staying in it and warm. I had a mouse chew the water line underneath and carpenter ants moved in by the hundreds or thousands. I bought some ortho spray from Home Depot it works really well. I sprayed it behind the lighting behind the stove all over the place that I could get Behind the Walls the fixtures and all around the perimeter. The next day I came and looked inside. There were hundreds of them dead all over the place. Couple days I would sweep up clean up all the dead ants and then spray again. Again every day they would be hundreds of them dead again. I just keep on repeating it for a month eventually they all died I didn't have any more come back since. I just every now and then spray the perimeter underneath the trailer and around the edges around the flooring and it seems to take care of my problems. Also find all the water leaks and fix them hope that helps.
