Huge NRA opener in Houston as gun classes fill in Washington

Today, as President Barack Obama blamed gun violence in Mexico on American gun laws, thousands of National Rifle Association members descended on Houston to tell a different story, and one Washington-based firearms instructor confirmed that armed citizens are more interested than ever about personal safety.

The President's AG is responsible for much of the violence in Mexico due to the illegal transfer of firearms to cartels during the bungled Fast & Furious operation. The President must have a huge set to imply that the violence in Mexico is due to our gun laws when he's actually provided the cartels, through Eric Holder, thousands of weapons that have been traced to hundreds of killings, including the deaths of American Border Patrol agents. In addition, his directives to ICE and Border Patrol to ignore US laws which dictate the deportation of criminal immigrants completely undermines the efforts of these agencies to protect our population from what amounts to an invading force. I believe his actions and directives are illegal and subvert the laws of the land provided under the Constitution of the US. As such, he is possibly guilty of high crimes and should be subject to impeachment and prosecution for complicity in those deaths and for compromising the security and safety of American AND Mexican citizens. Is there any hope that someday our Congress will step up for the people an stop his trampling of our rights and laws? It doesn't appear so.

NRA’s LaPierre: ‘We will never surrender our guns!’

A defiant Wayne LaPierre, executive vice president of the National Rifle Association, told an enthusiastic audience today that gun owners will “never sacrifice our freedom upon the altar of elitist acceptance, and we will never surrender our guns, never!”

NRA critics focus on Porter’s speech

As Jim Porter, the affable Alabama attorney, prepares to step into the role as president of the National Rifle Association on Monday in Houston, press critics are already framing their strategy of attack by zeroing on remarks Porter made Friday and Saturday about President Barack Obama.
