Where were you and what fly did you use?

Its at a lake i fish at and I used a some type of elk hair fly. I lost it in a tree 5 casts after i caught this one lol.
-
That's too bad, when you have a fly that is working and you didn't tie any extras, that's a heart breaker! I'll be going to Leech lake her soon to catch some trips and brookies!! Nice fish!
-
Not too thread jack but here are some fish my boys caught opening day on a Black Woolley Bugger!
-
Dont mind at all infact if anyone wants to post up some more pictures of fish caught on a fly rod that would be cool.

I'd almost rather catch small wild trout than anything. You done good.
-
yeah the wild trout fight alot better. Thank you Its really not that hard after you figure out how to cast and all that.
-
Here are a couple fish my dad and I caught in eastern Washington earlier this year on the fly rods. The first one is my dads 28" pig and the other one is mine that was 25"

DD- Fly fishing is a curse and it will take over your life if you let it, and it will be awesome! In all seriousness, as you get more comfortable with the setup and the casting, and you will, you will find yourself wanting to do it more and more and eventually your spinning rod will be left in the rack collecting dust. God forbid you start tying flies, because there really isn't anything much better than catching fish on your own creation.
Here are a few of my favorites that keep my fly rods strung up on the rack...
-
Im getting excited seeing all the pictures lol Im glad I started fishing this year.
-

Catching trout in small rivers, streams, and ponds is my favorite type of fly fishing. Not big fish but a whole lot prettier than those big ugly chums some people catch....... :chuckle:
