We took one perfectly good Ruger 10/22, broke it down, put a fat barrel and a fancy stock on it. Then I did a mock-up of what I wanted it to look like. My son did most of the painting (I made a few token efforts) and my daughter-in-law made stencils and masks based on my ideas.

I like it, how well do you think the paint will hold up on the stockWe used Duracoat paint on it, which I believe is for gun stocks, so I hope it proves to be very durable.
Thanks for the comments everyone, I felt like an eight year old kid on Christmas morning when I was taking that masking tape off the paint job.

Outstanding custom job only problem I can possibly see is whether the JD insignia was a Copyrighted design. Hopefully JD won't come after you for copyright infringement if it is.
Probably more trademark than copyright.
