Bob Costas: 'Cowardly,' 'Feckless' Senators Opposed Universal Background Checks
Appearing on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight" on Friday, NBC sportscaster Bob Costas said senators who opposed universal background checks in the failed Toomey-Manchin bill were cowardly and "beyond feckless."
Costas said, "there's a large number--or was a large number--that were beyond feckless to craven and cowardly and caved in front of the NRA and wouldn't even vote for something as simple as a universal background check."

Costas is the same as Piers Morgan, both insignificant talking heads trying desperately to gain media attention and ratings with a subject they do not understand. Giving them ANY attention to their tantrums only encourages them further. There is nothing to see here, let's all move on.

The media keeps trying to make it sound like the bill (649) was ever actually voted on. It wasn't, they voted on the first set of amendments to it. Amendments that didn't even make it to voted on yet are ones that gun groups would likely support---like a country-wide reciprocity for concealed carry. But the bill isn't dead, just shelved. My sneaking suspicion says that the Dems know that on average there are 2 big 'mass-shootings' a year, and they can have the bill and amendments on standby while waiting for the next big shooting. Then bring the bill out while there is a bunch of emotional outcry and the 'shooting' is still lead story in the news.

:yeah:
i totally agree !!! They have put this on the back burner until the next wacko. They have already admitted their strategy before.

The most significant statistic in this debate is that 75% of the felon hits in existing background checks go unprosecuted. 90% in Chicago where gun control is the strictest and gun violence at its height in this country. How will another, broader check work if they currently don't enforce what we have? We know the answer. It won't.
