Title: It's about that time
Post by: railbird on May 21, 2013, 12:05:01 PM
I'm thinking that the time has arrived to start doing a little early scouting.  I'll hunt the Winston GMU 520 this year, as I have in the past, and even knowing it as well as I do, I still enjoy getting out and looking around a few times before the season opens.  I'm not smart enough to hunt with anything but a stick and string so if anyone would like to spend a few Saturdays, or any other days, poking around in the Winston and seeing where the newest logging is taking place and trying to find new spots to ambush an old slow elk or deer, send me a message and we'll try to make it work.  I'm old, easy to please, and will probably, at some point, bring my mountain bike to get back off the beaten path.  However, I enjoy walking about as much as I get tired of falling off my bike when trying to ride and look through my binoculars at the same time.  Some of us just take longer to learn than others, I guess.
