Smossy, Any of the areas around Wenatchee that had fires last summer/fall should have good numbers of them. They grow at most elevations, Blewitt Pass, Table Mtn. fire areas should have some. 3000-5000ft elev. They are hard to spot at first, but once you see a few you'll get the hang it pickin them out.

You have to cook them for sure. They have a gas that they use to spread there spores. You need to cook that out. But there is nothing to worry about.

I found some on Saturday scouting.  Some has white worm critters in them.  Do you guys check everyone of them or just cook them to get the protein?

I Picked About Two Gallons On Sat.  They Where About 3800', North Side Of The Mountain In The Timbered Areas With Little Ground Cover.  If I Was A Few Days Later I Would Have Been To Late.  I Think I Would Look About The 4000' Level Next Weekend.
