Gonna be crowded this year for even the June 1 openers since it falls on a Saturday. Ill be out somewhere, gotta see what the water does, could be a bank drift or sled trip :dunno: anyone else going out for the best steelhead fishing day of the year?
-
I will be rowing the Klickitat. I am pumped. Just put my new anchor system in today.
-
My brother and I will be hitting the 'Nooch Sunday. We'll be drifting from the White Bridge to the Cross-over Bridge. It's only a couple of miles of river, but we fish it hard, and it's been pretty good to us.
-
we counted something like 29 drift boats passing black creek on the opener last year...i think the next day it was something like 4 :chuckle:
that's what i like about fishing that river in the summer, the fish trickle in and there's no big push all at once so you've got a shot at catching something from june-october.

Getting the boat ready to head to Oregon Thursday to fish the Rouge river with Chuck and Steve at Pavti marine. Hopping to hook some springer's. and summer run.2 days of fishing. Come on Thursday

Anybody fish Andersons Bar on the cowlitz lately? Thats the gravel bar on the other side of the clay banks below blue creek. If so How much lead have you been using to stay down? Like 3/4 0r 1oz bank sinkers or will pencil lead work? Havnt fished that drift in years, might hit it this weekend!

I am lucky. Hardly anyone fishes my river, although there is a reason for that (not many fish :chuckle: )
Is anyone thinking about going glo-balling at 12:00 A.M. for the opener :dunno: I have never tried it, and am very tempted...

-No just gonna float down in the drift boat and fish from the bank, that will be my first hole to fish! Just need to know if i need to pick up some bank sinkers to stay down, I hate using 2inches of pencil lead..

I have a Funeral to attend on Saturday but I will be BBQ'ing fresh Steelhead on Sunday evening.

Flow has been pretty stable at around 5100. Not exactly summer low. I'd guess you might need at least 2 inches of lead. Better to be prepared.

Just picked up some glo corkies. I will have a line in the water, and a fish in the oven before you guys even launch your boat...........*ya right; wishful thinking :chuckle: * The river is a bit high and fast so be careful everyone
-
anybody know if reiter is open?
-
Notice! All rivers on the west end of the OP are puking whole trees and mud. Not expected to clear up for a least three weeks.
-
And for BH45's sake....do not post a pic of a native out of the water :bdid: :chuckle:
45 min. till show time 8)
UPDATE: fished for about an hour.....nothing :P River was pretty fast. Punks above me were throwing rocks into the water where I was fishing :bash:

anybody know if reiter is open?
I'm going to say no.

Define "open".......open to fishing....yes....open as in having an open place to stand....good luck... :chuckle:
-
I really think its closed 1000 feet both up stream and down stream from mouth of the Creek.
-
Its open.
