Washington Secrets columnist Paul Bedard, writing for yesterday’s Washington Examiner, noted that bowhunters are getting into the Second Amendment fight, which does not appear to be much of a “secret” nor should it surprise members of two popular Northwest hunting forums: Hunting-Washington and HuntFishNW.

I always thought the 'arms' part of the 2A applied to all things that could be used as a weapon--guns, swords, bows, knives, etc.  Guns just tend to get the most attention.

Hopefully more people will start to wake up.

All hunters (firearm, archery, trapping, etc.), fishermen, gun owners, people that don't own guns, people that don't like guns, ... ALL PEOPLE IN THIS COUNTRY should be defending and protecting the Second Amendment because it, along with the other nine amendments in the Bill of Rights, is the reason we are a free people.  Take away or weaken the Second Amendment, the rest of the remaining nine amendments will become nothing but words on a piece of paper open to similar dismantling and disregard; we will no longer be a free people.

"arms" means arms or armaments, back when this was written this included powder kegs, trebuchets, cannons, swords, flaming/exploding arrows, warships, and even primitive landmines. The whole point was that any common man could have the same weapons as King George or whoever the next tyrant was.

"people" means ALL people....we used to punish a criminal and then allow them to be a free man again.
"shall not be infringed" is pretty easy to understand.

pretty sad where we are now....all hoorah over keeping our little pea shooters with our teeny little bullets ....every tyrant on earth thinks its hilarious i bet too.....sad
