So after 158 lbs hanging weight at the butcher of this years spring bear, I ended up with 55 lbs of breakfast sausage and 30 lbs of pep sticks. I'd have to say they are both really good. This is the first time I've had a bear processed by a butcher. The breakfast sausage definately has more of a herb spice in it than I've normally had, but tastes great in it. Anyway.....should be good on bear meat for awhile.

Sweet deal. I just picked mine up from del fox yesterday. They have yet to disappoint. Got maple breakfast sausage and jalapeņo and cheese stuffed pepper sticks. Oh boy!

How much did both of your guys' bear weigh at the meat locker?
-
Quarterd my bear so I only brought in two hind quarters and back straps. They weighed 85 pounds. I keep the rest of the meat to make jerky.

what did it cost for all that done?
-
yum! I got about 100lbs of meat off my bear, still eating on him, have not bought any burger, steaks or summer sausage since. haha.

good choice of style of meat, perperoni sticks are great eatin, cant wait to get my bear back from the woods. :chuckle:

Seems like most guys turn their bears into summer sausage / pep sticks / breakfast sausage...
Are bear steaks/roasts no good?

had bear taco's last night, bear burgers camping the other weekend, and friends over for bear steaks last week. Hope to find another this year, delish!
